Resolutions, Ordinances, or Other Climate Legislation
This assessment is based on one piece of legislation. Oakland County adopted Resolution #19367 in December 2019, declaring a climate emergency and committing to create an Energy and Environment Infrastructure Plan. The resolution focuses on three main areas: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing clean and renewable energy use, and improving energy efficiency across county facilities, transportation, and buildings. The plan includes specific actions like installing solar panels on county properties, expanding electric vehicles, and conserving water and energy. The county will also improve stormwater management and ensure that vulnerable communities are included in the planning process.
