Resolutions, Ordinances, or Other Climate Legislation

This assessment is based on three pieces of legislation. Tempe, Arizona has adopted a resolution, proclamation, and participation agreement focused on renewable energy procurement and energy efficiency. The city committed to purchasing solar power through a partnership with Salt River Project that will provide renewable energy to municipal operations, while simultaneously launching an Energy Efficiency Day initiative to reduce energy consumption across city buildings, lighting, water systems, and vehicle fleets. The city is also developing an Energy Equity Roadmap to ensure efficiency improvements benefit all residents equitably and is considering adoption of the International Green Construction Code to reduce emissions.
