Reports & Planning Documents

This overview is based on two climate planning documents from the City of Milpitas. The city adopted a Climate Action Plan in 2013 targeting greenhouse gas emissions reduction through five sectors: energy, water, transportation and land use, solid waste, and off-road equipment. Key initiatives include transit-oriented development around a BART station, expansion of bikeways to 70 miles, green building regulations, municipal facility retrofits, solar installations, recycled water programs, and landfill gas capture. The plan identified 87,450 metric tons of emissions reductions through mandatory and voluntary measures enforced during project review, with energy efficiency contributing the largest share at 40,580 metric tons.
